" Stroke memang penyakit yang semakin meningkat penderitanya. Kuncinya adalah pola makan yang tidak sehat karena banyak makan makanan berlemak tapi kurang sayuran atau serat dan buah. KOTA KINABALU, 26 Sept (Bernama)-- Kerajaan memperuntukkan sebanyak RM3.69 juta bagi membiayai pelaksanaan aktiviti memerangi gejala kejadian penyakit kronik menerusi Panel Penasihat Klinik Kesihatan (PPKK) seluruh negara, sepanjang tahun ini.

Menteri Kesihatan Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam berkata peruntukan itu akan diagihkan kepada PPKK yang berpusat di 778 klinik kesihatan dengan jumlah keahlian mencecah seramai 10,616 orang.

Katanya daripada jumlah itu, sebanyak RM5,000 diberikan kepada setiap klinik yang mempunyai PPKK bagi menyokong usaha dan aktiviti mereka bermula 2011.

Menurutnya Kementerian Kewangan telah meluluskan supaya peruntukan ini dimasukkan terus ke dalam akaun PPKK bagi memudahkan urusan pelaksanaan aktiviti PPKK.

"Kerajaan yakin dengan bantuan yang disalurkan ini PPKK akan lebih bersemangat untuk menyumbang bakti kepada rakyat dan kementerian juga akan terus membimbing serta memantau aktiviti dengan lebih teratur melalui indikator pencapaian yang akan diperkenalkan," katanya dalam ucapan semasa perasmian Persidangan PPKK peringkat kebangsaan di sini Khamis.

Teks ucapan beliau dibacakan Timbalan Ketua Pengarah Kesihatan (Penyelidikan dan Teknikal) Datuk Dr Maimunah Abd Hamid.

Subramaniam berkata melalui perkongsian pintar itu, ilmu pengetahuan yang diperoleh masyarakat dapat memperkasa diri untuk meningkatkan lagi kesedaran serta pengetahuan dalam penjagaan kesihatan diri.

Beliau berkata penjagaan kesihatan yang ditumpukan itu antaranya kegemukan yang merupakan masalah kesihatan yang menjadi ancaman terbesar rakyat di negara ini.

"Berdasarkan statistik, seorang daripada setiap tiga penduduk mengalami masalah tersebut atau mempunyai berat badan berlebihan. Ini berikutan tabiat rakyat kita yang gemar makan tetapi kurang melakukan aktiviti fizikal," katanya.

Katanya sebanyak 8.5 juta penduduk negara ini mengalami masalah berat badan berlebihan dengan 4.4 juta mengalami obesiti.




Punca Sakit Jantung Di Usia Muda

KETIKA bersukan, tiba-tiba dia rebah dan tidak sedarkan diri. Beberapa minit kemudian, lelaki berusia 30-an itu disahkan meninggal dunia akibat serangan jantung.

Sering menjadi tanda tanya di kalangan kita apabila mereka yang sentiasa mengamalkan gaya hidup sihat dan aktif, tiba-tiba dilaporkan meninggal dunia kerana diserang sakit jantung yang dianggap penyakit orang tua.

Atlet, iaitu individu yang dianggap mengamalkan gaya hidup sihat, juga mungkin boleh mendapat sakit jantung jika mempunyai masalah kongenital (penyakit sejak lahir) yang menyebabkan kematian mengejut akibat serangan jantung berikutan gangguan ritma jantung (rhythm abnormality).

Ternyata penyakit jantung yang sering dikaitkan sebagai penyakit orang tua, kini makin banyak dialami orang muda seawal usia 30-an. Perunding Kardiologi Hospital Pantai Klang, Dr Suhaimi Osman, berkata faktor genetik mendedahkan seseorang kepada penyakit pembunuh nombor satu di Malaysia itu. Jika ada ahli keluarga atau ibu bapa menghidap sakit jantung, anaknya mungkin berdepan kemungkinan sama pada masa akan datang.

Faktor lain yang mendedahkan seseorang kepada penyakit berkenaan ialah merokok (risiko paling tinggi), diabetes, kolesterol dan tekanan darah tinggi. “Walaupun banyak faktor boleh menyebabkan sakit jantung, sering kita lupa ialah faktor sejarah keluarga kerana mereka yang mempunyai ahli keluarga menghidap sakit jantung, mempunyai risiko besar mendapat penyakit berkenaan.

“Impak mendapat sakit jantung bagi mereka yang mempunyai sejarah keluarga sama dengan pesakit jantung yang disebabkan amalan merokok.

“Malah, jika seseorang itu merokok, menghidap diabetes, mempunyai kolesterol tinggi serta penyakit darah tinggi, digabung faktor sejarah keluarga, risiko dia mendapat sakit jantung makin berganda,” katanya.

Menurutnya, ada lebih 20 ciri genetik diketahui sekarang, menyebabkan mereka mudah terkena sakit jantung dan lebih berisiko berbanding orang lain. “Individu yang mempunyai sejarah keluarga berisiko tinggi jika bapanya mendapat sakit jantung pada usia muda iaitu ketika berusia tidak sampai 50 tahun atau ibunya diserang ketika berusia kurang 55 tahun.

“Adakalanya tanpa faktor risiko pun, seseorang boleh mendapat sakit jantung. Misalnya, satu kajian membabitkan kira-kira 120,000 individu yang pernah menghidap sakit jantung koronari mendapati, 15 peratus wanita dan 19 peratus lelaki tidak mempunyai faktor risiko yang dikenali. Faktor genetik yang belum dikesan, disyaki memainkan peranan dalam kes sebegini,” katanya.

Beliau berkata, kajian terhadap tahap kolesterol, trigliserid (lipid atau lemak neutral daripada gliserol bergabung dengan tiga molekul asid lemak), lipoprotein (satu daripada sekumpulan protein di dalam plasma darah dan limfa yang bergabung dengan lemak lain seperti kolestrol), low-density lipoprotein (LDL – kolestrol jahat) dan (high density lipoprotein – kolestrol baik) di kalangan individu yang mempunyai sejarah keluarga sakit jantung turut mendapati mereka memang mempunyai kecenderungan untuk mendapat penyakit itu.

“Mereka yang mengalami sindrom metabolik iaitu mengalami obesiti, trigliserid tinggi dan menghidap darah tinggi yang menyebabkan radang pada pembuluh darah turut terdedah kepada sakit jantung.

“Jika tiada sakit jantung, tetapi ujian high-sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hs-CRP) yang dijalankan ke atasnya tinggi, dia turut berisiko mendapat sakit jantung.

“Ujian hs-CRP boleh mengesan lebih tepat kepekatan protein yang lebih rendah dan digalakkan sesetengah pihak sebagai ujian untuk menentukan tahap risiko yang berpotensi untuk penyakit kardiovaskular, serangan jantung dan strok,” katanya.

Beliau berkata, genetik ialah faktor utama untuk risiko sakit jantung. Ia seperti penyakit keturunan lain seperti jika dalam keluarga ibu bapa mempunyai diabetes, anaknya mungkin menghidap penyakit sama. Begitu juga dengan kolesterol tinggi dan merokok. Dalam sebuah keluarga yang sosial ekonominya rendah, didapati risiko juga bertambah dan faktor stres juga menambah risiko melalui hormon adrenergik yang dikeluarkan kelenjar suprarenal apabila di bawah stres.

“Perbezaan jantina ialah lelaki mendapat risiko sakit jantung lebih awal. Perempuan mendapat perlindungan daripada hormon estrogen tapi selepas menopaus, risiko mereka terdedah sakit jantung sama seperti lelaki,” katanya.

Menurutnya, salur darah perempuan juga lebih kecil daripada lelaki. Oleh itu, gejala dialami wanita mungkin berbeza dengan lelaki. Antara gejala sakit jantung dialami wanita ialah tiba-tiba rasa berpeluh sejuk, sesak nafas, rasa sakit antara tulang belakang, sakit tengkuk, bawah dagu, tepi lengan, belakang dan perut.

“Ramai wanita beranggapan sakit jantung penyakit lelaki, jadi mereka tidak menyangka diserang sakit jantung hingga lambat mendapatkan rawatan. Apabila penyakit disedari, ia lebih susah dirawat.”

“Salur darah koronari wanita lebih kecil menyebabkan mereka lebih sukar dirawat secara angioplasti, di mana sten dimasukkan ke dalam salur darah untuk mengembalikan pengaliran darah yang lancar di dalam pembuluh darah.

“Jika angioplasti tidak dapat dijalankan, rawatan perubatan atau medical therapy adalah pilihan rawatan bagi mereka. Pesakit lelaki lebih berkemungkinan mendapat sakit dada ketika serangan jantung berbanding wanita, dan biasanya akan didiagnosis lebih awal,” katanya.

Dr Suhaimi berkata, tekanan emosi berlebihan boleh menjadi beban kepada jantung dan boleh melemahkan jantung.

Emosi juga antara penyebab sakit jantung, misalnya dalam mesyuarat atau terbabit pergaduhan, tekanan darah naik dan menyebabkan beban kepada jantung, seterusnya menyebabkan berlaku sakit jantung.

“Setiap individu, walaupun baru berusia 25 tahun, digalakkan membuat pemeriksaan darah dan ECG (diagnosis penyakit jantung).

“Pemeriksaan darah dapat mengesan masalah kolesterol dan diabetes. Jika kolesterol terlalu tinggi dan seseorang itu perokok walaupun usianya 20-an, dia mungkin diserang sakit jantung,” katanya.

“Yang kita perlu faham mengenai sakit jantung ialah, mencegah lebih baik daripada merawat. Pengesanan serangan sakit jantung pada peringkat awal daripada gejala dialami membolehkan rawatan sewajarnya dijalankan.

“Rawatan untuk memulihkan sakit jantung seperti pintasan (bypass) dan sten, tidak boleh bertahan selama-lamanya. Ia tidak sama dengan yang asli kerana pintasan jantung mungkin tersumbat 10 atau 15 tahun kemudian.

“Pesakit yang mempunyai ibu mendapat serangan jantung sebelum 55 tahun, perlu berhati-hati kerana risiko untuknya mendapat sakit jantung lebih tinggi dan pemeriksaan awal perlu dijalani. Mereka yang ada kolesterol tinggi kadangkala boleh dilihat dengan tanda kolesterol di mata,” katanya.

Gaya hidup sihat membantu mengawal faktor risiko sakit jantung. Hentikan tabiat merokok serta elakkan makan terlalu banyak daging merah seperti lembu dan kambing, produk tenusu seperti krim dan mentega kerana semua jenis lemak tepu boleh ditukar kepada kolesterol.

Something else I didn't know ... I asked my Doctor why people need to urinate so much at night time. Answer from my Cardiac Doctor - Gravity holds water in the lower part of your body when you are upright (legs swell). When you lie down and the lower body (legs and etc) seeks level with the kidneys, it is then that the kidneys remove the water because it is easier. This then ties in with the last statement!
I knew you need your minimum water to help flush the toxins out of your body, but this was news to me. Correct time to drink water...

USEFUL AND HANDY USES OF SALT !!!!

  1. If you drop a whole egg on the floor, pour salt all over the egg, let it sit for awhile, then use dustpan, the egg will come right up, without all that mess.
  2. Soak stained hankies in salt water before washing.
  3. Sprinkle salt on your shelves to keep ants away.
  4. Soak fish in salt water before descaling; the scales will come off easier.
  5. Put a few grains of rice in your saltshaker for easier pouring.

“Misalnya, untuk membuat tekan tubi (push up), kita beri arahan supaya tangan di bengkokkan dan kepala turun selari dengan tapak tangan, tetapi mereka yang bersenam membuat sebaliknya, mereka bengkokkan tangan tetapi kepala diturunkan tidak selari dengan tapak tangan menyebabkan mereka terpaksa kerja kuat untuk buat senaman itu.
“Apabila itu terjadi, mereka menyatakan senaman berkenaan susah dan enggan meneruskannya. Ini menyebabkan ramai yang bersenam sekerat jalan dan usaha menurunkan berat badan atau mendapat bentuk punggung dan perut ke bentuk asal sukar dicapai,” katanya.
